Biography

Cheryl Strayed is the widely acclaimed author of the #1 New York Times best-selling memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail, the New York Times best sellers Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Life and Love from Dear Sugar and Brave Enough, as well as the novel Torch.

Wild was chosen by Oprah Winfrey as her first selection for Oprah’s Book Club 2.0 and adapted into an Academy Award-nominated movie starring Reese Witherspoon as Cheryl and Laura Dern as Cheryl’s mother, Bobbi.

Cheryl’s books have been translated into 40 languages, and her essays have been featured in numerous publications, including The Best American Essays, New York Times, Washington Post Magazine, Vogue, Salon, The Sun, and Tin House. She is cohost, along with Steve Almond, of the WBUR podcast Dear Sugar Radio, which originated with her popular “Dear Sugar” advice column on TheRumpus.net.
