Tony Khalife is a Lebanese-born singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist acclaimed for weaving a seamless flow of the drone and ragas of Indian music together with the resonance of devotional Sufi dances and Western harmonies.
Tony, a Vedic scholar, has studied the life and songs of Indian saints and ancient rituals in Sanskrit, served seven years as a ceremonial guide at the Vishwa Shanti Ashram in Oakland, California, and spent one year in India on a pilgrimage singing and chanting from Haridwar to Pandharpur.
Tony was his own first teacher—his childhood and formal education was hijacked by civil war, so he taught himself guitar in a bomb shelter and cultivated a system for learning anything, which he uses to help students craft the most efficient system for overcoming roadblocks in their life. Based in Ojai, California, and creator of numerous CDs, he has been performing and teaching internationally for 30 years.
