Program Description

What if your writer’s block is your greatest teacher? Are you haunted by what you are not writing? Do you feel like you and your writing have abandoned each other? Do you struggle to sculpt the time required to practice your craft? Would you rather have written than write?

Our creative blocks hold messages for us, and by paying attention to those blocks and inquiring into their hidden gifts, we can unleash their creative power. This process-oriented workshop with award-winning author Laraine Herring, MFA, MA, is for all those who have found—or find—themselves stuck in their creative process.

You will learn:

  • How to break through the perspectives that hold you back from writing
  • Strategies for regularly setting aside time to devote to writing projects
  • What happens when you stay present with your words until you have heard all they have to say to your audience and your heart
  • The relationship that exists between a writer and the process, and how the blocks play an essential role in the evolution of that relationship.

Using deep inquiry, writing exercises, movement, and breath work, (and the occasional monkey puppet!), you will practice moving into, rather than away from, your stuck places so you can embrace and see the purpose of all parts of the creative process, not only the production stage.

You return home with a more balanced relationship between you and your work and enjoy a healthier and happier path forward.

Why Attend?

  • Dive into the obstacles in your writing process and discover the revelations they hold for you.

  • Shift your perceptions about what is holding you back so you can come to your projects with more ease and joy.

  • Take your writing to the next level by learning new skills for relaxing and tapping into your unlimited creativity and intuition.
