Program Description

Want an alternative to drugs and surgery to relieve your chronic pain? In this workshop, you will learn postures and movements you can do with a chair at home or in the office to build strength, increase flexibility, and offer peace of mind.

Lakshmi Voelker, E-RYT 500, IAYT, has decades of experience helping people to ease or eliminate their muscular pain. This week, with yoga teacher Brenda Yarnold, MA, E-RYT 200, she combines the unique protocols of Lakshmi Voelker’s Chair Yoga™ with the powerful method of Integrated Positional Therapy (IPT) to empower you with tools to manage your pain.

You will learn how to:

  • Recognize and correct your muscular imbalances
  • Apply the correct chair yoga postures for your situation
  • Design your own personal chair IPT wellness plan
  • Easily follow the next steps for continued pain relief.

For more than 35 years, Lakshmi has been teaching chair yoga to bring adaptive fitness and exercise programs to those who cannot benefit from traditional physical activities due to age or limiting conditions. Both Lakshmi and Brenda are focused on ways to improve people’s health and wellness by making the practices completely accessible for people with restricted movement and those who are looking for relief from the effects of everyday stress.
