1440 Multiversity 800 Bethany Drive Scotts Valley,CA 95066

Reimagine movement through a combination of warrior and yogic principles designed to challenge and transform you forever. This is a special opportunity to work directly with Budokon (BDK) creator, and movement arts “teacher of teachers,” Cameron Shayne, and his wife, Melayne Shayne.

In a playful but challenging program designed for intermediate or advanced yogis or athletes, you will learn BDK, a unique training system that integrates yoga, striking, grappling, calisthenics, animal locomotion, meditation, and mind science.

You will explore:

  • BDK calisthenics, animal locomotion, and mobility strength training to develop incredible power from deep, unusual ranges of motion
  • A flow of the Budokon Yoga Primary and Second Series, combining strong and circular sequences of asanas, martial arts transitions, Zen meditation, and restorative poses to increase your muscular strength, flexibility, concentration, and the cultivation of pure witness state
  • A deep investigation of the anatomy of movement in the hip joint, spine, and shoulders to learn how to gain power from your core through the pelvic floor, the foundation for agile movement.

You will take home innovative mixed movement art techniques and be inspired to add a creative and strength-building element to your yoga or other athletic practice.

Cameron Shayne

Cameron Shayne, the creator of Budokon, is considered the father of the mixed movement arts culture. He is a social philosopher, educator, fighter, yogi, satirist, artist, writer, and founder of Budokon University and BDK Academy. He travels extensively teaching and headlining yoga conferences around the world.

He has been credited for helping Kerri Walsh win her first Olympic gold medal, giving Courteney Cox, Jennifer Anniston, Meg Ryan, and Renee Russo their incredible physiques, choreographing fight scenes for action movies, and helping Charlie Sheen rehab from drug addiction.

As a “teacher of teachers,” he is renowned worldwide as the creator of the Budokon Yoga style and the Budokon Mixed Movement Arts System, and for his inspiring and provocative writings on social philosophy. His radically honest and transparent style of teaching through critical analysis has established him as a guiding voice for modern yoga and the movement culture.

Cameron began studying martial arts and Zen meditation at the age of 12, and yoga asana and calisthenics at 25. He is a world champion martial artist with black belts in both Japanese and Korean systems, and a brown belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. He has been studying and sharing yoga, martial arts, and Zen meditation collectively for over 30 years.

Melayne Shayne

Melayne Shayne is a Budokon Mixed Movement Artist. She is a passionate movement practitioner as well as global director of the BDK Yoga Teacher Training program.

Before finding Budokon—while directing brand marketing for global trends at the Adidas headquarters in Germany—she has sought to practice and learn from teachers around the globe within various lineages and styles, including Shiva Rea’s Prana Vinyasa, Power Yoga, Pilates, and capoeira.

Drawn to movement and self-expression from an early age, for Melayne moving is more than making shapes with the body—it is a lifelong commitment to self-reflection, personal development, and contribution.

Her love for mixed movement as well as living and sharing the Budokon philosophy is reflected in her commitment to her black belt, and in her grounded, detailed, and compassionate style of teaching. In life and during her classes, she seeks to be inspired and inspire others, and to challenge herself and others. She enables her students to feel, explore, and discover themselves in a unique and authentic way.

She travels extensively, educating and inspiring students through BDK teacher trainings, international festivals, and conferences with her husband Cameron Shayne.
