Many of us are unsure how to give our body what it needs for vitality, disconnected from the joy of preparing meals, and so rushed that we barely taste the flavors of our food. And all of this has an impact on our health and overall well-being.

Harvard-trained physician Akil Palanisamy, MD, author of The Paleovedic Diet, and Michelle Tam, New York Times best-selling author of Nom Nom Paleo, are joining forces to change that.

This weekend, these two experts combine the holistic principles of Ayurveda—one of the oldest systems of health on the planet—with the theory and practice of the paleo diet. Their goal is to inspire you to return to the kitchen and savor the pleasures of cooking and eating, positively contributing to your well-being.

Through lecture, question and answer sessions, and cooking demonstrations, you will learn:

Akil Palanisamy

Akil Palanisamy, author of The Paleovedic Diet, is an integrative medicine physician, board-certified in family medicine, who blends his Western medical training with effective holistic approaches, including functional medicine and Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India.

His thirst for knowledge and longstanding yoga practice influenced his decision to become a physician. Dr. Palanisamy completed his premedical training at Harvard University, received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and completed his residency at Stanford University. He also completed a fellowship in integrative medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona, and is certified by the Center for Mind-Body Medicine at Georgetown University.

Dr. Palanisamy studied Ayurveda at Arya Vaidya Ayurvedic Institute in Southern India, and held a clinical internship with the renowned Ayurvedic doctor L. Mahadevan, MD, at Sarada Ayurvedic Hospital in Kanyakumari, India.

He is dedicated to serving the needs of patients and the community as well as advancing the practice of medicine.

Michelle Tam
