Program Description

Take a journey inward and trace your inner self through an in-depth exploration of the art and science of asana. Join internationally renowned Iyengar Yoga teacher Marla Apt for five days of self-inquiry and discovery in your yoga practice.

Through a non-judgmental exploration of the mind and body, you will cultivate detachment and freedom from desires, distractions, negative emotions, and confusion.

You will also experience:

  • Asana and pranayama classes to deepen your practice and increase your strength, coordination, flexibility, and sense of well-being
  • Discussions of yogic and Buddhist philosophy to enhance your understanding of what's possible with practice
  • In-depth study of how the body, mind, and breath are aligned and how to practice asana and pranayama progressively and safely
  • How to use your yoga as a meditative practice to calm the mind and settle disturbances to consciousness.

You will take home a greater understanding of the context of yoga and how your practice can be a meditation in action. You will be empowered with the understanding of how to tailor your practice (either at home or in a class) to your particular needs and conditions.

Open to anyone with a minimum of six months of yoga experience who is looking to access the deeper potential of yoga to truly transform their life.

    Marla Apt is a senior-level certified Iyengar Yoga teacher with over 25 years of experience of studying Iyengar Yoga and yoga philosophy, including studying directly with B.K.S. Iyengar. She is based in Los Angeles and conducts classes, teacher trainings, and therapeutic yoga workshops nationally and internationally.
