Program Description

In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the body is considered the gateway to enlightenment—to discover the body is to discover awareness—to uncover the most direct and effective path to profound spiritual transformation.

Meditating with the Body is a five-month, in-depth training developed by Dr. Reggie Ray, that focuses on a series of powerful body-based meditation practices drawn from Tibetan yoga. Taught by skilled somatic meditation practitioners, Caroline Pfohl and Manuela Mischke-Reeds, MA, MFT—two of Reggie's closest teachers—this program is the second of two residential retreats, bridged by a five-month, at-home curriculum. (Note, the first retreat was May 19 - 24, 2019). Embrace Meditating with the Body and become proficient in this life-changing form of somatic meditation.

This rich arc of learning will be kicked off at the May retreat with five days of guided meditation and embodiment practices—both indoors and in nature, talks on somatic meditation, small group discussions, and a one-on-one meeting with Caroline or Manuela.

This retreat will:

  • Dive deep into ancient, time-tested practices of Tibetan yoga
  • Teach you how to meditate in an embodied way and bring this somatic awareness into every aspect of your daily life
  • Help you develop a personal meditation practice suited to your own unique conditions
  • Strengthen your interoceptive capabilities and help you discover the gates to full awakening.

Deep, thorough, and life-changing, the practice of meditation that is taught in this 5-month course, and the profound transformations it brings, aids you in accessing the inner resources necessary to show up fully in your life, your community, and most of all, in your own body.
