Ken Cohen, World-renowned health educator, China scholar, and Qigong Grandmaster
Ken Cohen has been practicing qigong, tai chi, and related arts since 1968. He is the only lifetime apprentice to Taoist Abbot Huang Gengshi (1910-1999) from the Taoist Sacred Mountain, Xiqiao.
A steward of Chinese knowledge, wisdom, and tradition, Ken is a pioneer in the dialogue between ancient wisdom and modern science, and was the first person to teach qigong in medical schools in the United States. Through lectures, workshops, classes, and teacher training as well as healing and consultations in Colorado, California, and throughout the world, he shares the health and life-enhancing benefits of qigong, tai chi, Taoism, meditation, and related arts with the public.
A former collaborator with Alan Watts, Ken is the author of the internationally acclaimed book The Way of Qigong: The Art and Science of Chinese Energy Healing, best-selling audio and DVD courses, and more than 200 journal articles.
Ken's work has been sponsored by the American Cancer Society, the Mayo Clinic, Health Canada, and numerous cultural organizations. A dynamic and inspiring teacher, he is the winner of the Alyce and Elmer Green Award for Innovation and Lifetime Achievement for his work in energy medicine.
