Kristi Nelson, Executive director of A Network for Grateful Living

Kristi Nelson has immersed herself for decades in the rewarding work of nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and organizational development. Currently, she is the executive director of A Network for Grateful Living. It is a global organization offering educational programs and practices both to live gratefully and to catalyze the transformative power of personal and societal responsibility, based on the teachings of Brother David Steindl-Rast.

For virtually her entire adult life, Kristi has helped to lead, fund, and strengthen organizations committed to progressive social and spiritual change in a wide variety of roles.

In 2001, she started a values-based fundraising consulting, training, and leadership coaching company, working with organizations such as the Institute for Jewish Spirituality, Buddhist Peace Fellowship, Spirit in Action, Wisdom 2.0, and The Center for Contemplative Mind in Society.

Kristi has served as founding director of the Soul of Money Institute with Lynne Twist, director of development at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, and director of development for the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society.

During the few adult years that she was not engaged in the social mission work that she loves, Kristi was passionately engaged in surviving Stage IV cancer. Her work in the world now is a deepened reflection and integration of all that she learned from this experience.

Kristi is the author of Everyday Gratitude and the forthcoming Wake Up Grateful. She presents at workshops and retreats nationally.
