Roda Ahmed, Author

Roda Ahmed is a Norwegian author and columnist born in Hargeisa, Somalia. Her books include the best sellers Forberedelsen (The Preparation) and Mae Among the Stars, her first children's book. It is inspired by the story of Mae Jemison, the first African American woman to travel into space. Her most recent children's book, with Leandra Rose, is Good Night, Wiggly Toes.

A recipient of Norway's Free Speech Foundation (Fritt Ord) writing scholarship, Roda has been a regular columnist for the Norwegian national newspaper, Dagsavisen.

Roda is founder and CEO of Hightree Publishing. She speaks five languages: Somali, Arabic, Norwegian, English, and French.
