Sarah Jones, Tony and Obie award-winning performer, writer, and producer
Sarah Jones is a Tony and Obie award-winning performer, writer, and producer. She is known for her multicharacter, one-person Broadway hit Bridge & Tunnel (originally produced by Meryl Streep) and the critically acclaimed show Sell/Buy/Date.
Her work has enjoyed theatrical runs and commissions from institutions such as the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, the Ford Foundation, the NoVo Foundation, Berkeley Repertory Theater, the Market Theater in Johannesburg, South Africa, and numerous theaters in Europe and Asia.
Beyond the theater, Jones is currently writing, starring in, and executive producing, along with Imagine Entertainment, her own television series She the People. She has given multiple main stage TED Talks garnering six million views; cocreated and starred in a short film directed by Fisher Stevens at the request of Vogue and Anna Wintour; appeared in the final season of Broad City; and will next be seen in Noah Baumbach's new film opposite Scarlett Johansson.
Jones is a vocal advocate for the empowerment of women and girls globally. She performed in this capacity at the White House and the United State of Women Summit for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. She also gave an historic performance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland—the first artist on its main stage normally reserved for heads of state.
A UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador committed to raising awareness of gender, ethnic, racial, and economic injustice and disparities, Jones most recently launched Foment Productions, a social justice-focused entertainment company.
