About this event

Celebrate the season with purpose and flavor in this immersive, hands-on culinary workshop that brings the “Food as Medicine” philosophy to life. Set in the 1440 Teaching Kitchen, this experience highlights anti-inflammatory, antioxidant-rich, and gut-supportive ingredients designed to help you Live Well through the holidays.

Join Chef Ryan Fillhardt, Culinary Arts Education Faculty, along with members of the 1440 Culinary Team as they guide guests through interactive cooking demonstrations and hands-on preparation of festive appetizers and side dishes. The menu features nutrient-dense creations, with each dish showcasing seasonal produce and balanced flavor profiles as you learn more about their medicinal benefits.

Throughout the class, Chef Ryan will explore the concept of “Food as Medicine” through the lens of holiday wellness, blending culinary technique with nutritional insight. Participants will prepare, observe, and taste dishes that nourish both body and mind.

The workshop concludes with a shared meal in community at Teaching Kitchen to enjoy the evening’s creations, accompanied by thoughtful conversation around our Food as Medicine nutrition philosophy.
