About This Learning Event

Nourish your body and spirit starting with 30 minutes of Bagua, a gentle movement meditation. Begin with simple breathing techniques and soothing movements, progressing through the advanced postures and footwork of Bagua to energize your body and focus your mind. Next, relax and decompress with a 60-minute Shinrin-Yoku, our teacher-guided forest bathing experience along secluded wooded trails, designed to enhance your wellbeing. Conclude this enriching journey with a delicious, sustainable and locally sourced lunch at Kitchen Table, featuring global cuisine prepared by our 1440 Culinary Team. Lunch & Learn at 1440 provides a fulfilling opportunity to connect with yourself and other like-hearted community members while creating hope for living well.

Time: 10:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.


Lunch & Learn Schedule:

  • 10:00 a.m.: Arrival & Registration
  • 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: Bagua & Forest Bathing with 1440 Experience Instructor (all skill levels welcome)
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m.: Lunch at Kitchen Table; sustainable, locally sourced and mindfully prepared
  • 1:30 p.m.: Event Concludes & Departures

Lunch Menu:

  • Citrus Kiwi Salad: Mint from Joanie's Garden, Micro Basil, Agave 
  • Mediterranean Bowl: Rainbow Quinoa, Baby Gem Lettuce, Fava Beans, Cucumber, Olives, Cherry Tomatoes, Harissa Labneh, Toasted Almonds, Za'atar Vinaigrette
  • Pistachio Apricot Cookie: Lemon Glaze, Toasted Pistachio, Maldon Salt

 
Event Notes:

  • The start time of the class is 10:30 a.m., and guests may check into campus up to 30 minutes before the class start to enjoy our Lodge Retail Shop, Bridge of Intentions and Common Grounds Patio.
  • This is an outdoor event, held on our private campus trails.
  • We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing that allows you to freely move, and bring a light jacket or layers as temperatures may be cooler beneath our redwood canopies.
  • 1440 will provide any equipment or props required for this class; you are also welcome to bring your own.
  • Reusable water bottles are welcome -- filtered water stations are available throughout campus.
  • Kitchen Table offers ample indoor and outdoor seating, including outdoor covered seating options, to practice social distancing.
  • This is an 18-and-over event.
