About this event

Cultivate abundance through guided meditation, then gather around delicious Indigenous tapas, music, and meaningful connection.

In this special Ancestral Watch learning event celebrating the wisdom of Indigenous traditions, join 1440 Adjunct Faculty members Tony Skrelūnas and Missy and Henry Webster for an evening of mindfulness, culinary education, and community connection.

Upon arriving on campus, you'll participate in a guided meditation with Tony inspired by ancestral teachings and the practice of cultivating abundance. Through breath, reflection, and intention, you'll explore what it means to create, receive, and sustain abundance in your life.

Following the meditation, gather at Kitchen Table for Tapas & Tunes, featuring a special guest chef appearance by Missy and Henry Webster, a Navajo family from Gray Mountain, Arizona. Through stories, cultural insights, and a tasting of Missy's Indigenous-inspired small bites alongside other Food as Medicine favorites from the 1440 Culinary Team, you'll experience the power of nourishment as both tradition and wellbeing.

This immersive evening brings together mindfulness, storytelling, and nourishing cuisine in a meaningful exploration of what it means to create hope for living well.

Meet Your Adjunct Faculty Member, Tony Skrelūnas

DINÉ · LITHUANIAN · ENTREPRENEUR, AUTHOR · PhD CANDIDATE

“The wealth is not in front of you, waiting to be earned. It is behind you, waiting to be claimed.” – from The Ancestral Watch

Tony was raised on Black Mesa by his great‑grandmother Masan, who taught him to run at dawn with a stone in his mouth—not as ritual, but as technology. His Lithuanian grandfather drove 25 miles of dirt road each year to sit in a hogan and pass on a tradition that survived Soviet suppression. His grandfather Dineh Yazzie walked six miles a day and died at 103, surrounded by family.

He carries two lineages that have survived displacement, suppression, and the modern world’s noise. He spent decades leading economic development for the Navajo Nation, co‑founding clean energy companies, and running nationally acclaimed programs at Grand Canyon Trust. He is writing three books on what ancestral systems can teach the modern world.

Tony holds an MBA from Northern Arizona University and is a Standard Bearer Honoree in the Alumni Hall of Fame. An entrepreneur and author, his work spans wellness, technology, and agriculture, including The Ancestral Watch Series. He served three terms as Executive Director of Navajo Nation Economic & Government Development and is a co-founder of multiple ventures, including Navajo Power PBC. He was also the founding director of the Native America Program at Grand Canyon Trust for 14 years and is currently a PhD candidate in Sustainable Development Education.
