Welcome to The Field Trip: Parts, Play, and Permission to Reset — a permission slip to step out of urgency and back into yourself. Because we can take burnout seriously without being too serious.

Facilitated in the redwoods of the philanthropic 1440 Multiversity campus, The Field Trip is instructed by 1440 Adjunct Faculty members Rebecca Branstetter, Ph.D. (Founder of Grow Assessment and Thriving Students Collective™) and Isabelle Bridges-Boesch (changemaker, author, and empowerment coach). It is thoughtfully designed for helping professionals – especially educators and mental health providers – who are ready for a reset that leads to real change. When the overload becomes your normal, it often isn’t because you “can’t handle it” — it’s because protective parts have been holding the line for too long (the Over-Responsible One, the Perfectionist, the Rescuer, the “I’ll rest later” part).

In this restorative retreat, you’ll learn:

  • Parts-work-informed tools (Self-leadership, protectors, and your inner system)
  • Play-based regulation practices like movement, creativity, nature, and laughter to help your system soften without shaming it
  • How to identify your burnout patterns and the parts that drive them
  • Build a personal Play Menu (10/30/60-minute options)
  • Create a realistic 30-day “Career You Love” experiment, so your return home includes actual change, not just inspiration.

You’ll also get space to zoom out and ask the bigger career questions: Do I want to stay and job-craft within my current role? Shift responsibilities and boundaries? Or is this a season to explore a bigger pivot? You’ll leave with clarity and a next step that fits your real life.

This is a restorative, experiential workshop — a Field Trip from your default mode — blending guided reflection, practical tools, and meaningful connection, so you can step outside your work-world, experiment with a new way of being, and return renewed and resourced.
