Co-CreatorsJoanie and Scott Kriens started the 1440 Foundation in 2010, recognizing that the blazing success of the internet catalyzed powerful connections yet did not help people connect to their authentic selves. Making time for ourselves and our relationships is important but has a way of slipping down our personal "to do" lists. Yet there are 1440 minutes in every day available to each of us to be more aware, more authentic, more empathic, more connected.
In its early years, the 1440 Foundation was entirely focused on philanthropic grant-making in support of individuals and organizations committed to helping others grow in relationship, spirit and wellness. The creation of 1440 Multiversity stemmed from a desire to establish a beautiful and nurturing physical location where people of all walks of life could come together in community — to explore, learn, reflect, connect and reenergize.
Together, the 1440 Foundation and Multiversity operate as charitable organizations making grants to those in need that are deeply committed to the work, and grant more than 500 scholarships per year. Since opening in the spring of 2017, more than 100,000 individuals have visited the campus and benefited from the work.
