You don’t need to know your passion to design a life you truly love, at any age or stage. Discover a foundation of energy, hope, joy, and purpose through this immersive Designing Your Life (DYL) workshop at 1440 Multiversity, based on the New York Times bestselling book by innovators Bill Burnett and Dave Evans. Just as product designers create new possibilities and solve complex problems using design thinking, why not apply that same framework to designing a life where you can thrive?
The Designing Your Life methodology has been embraced by millions as a practical approach to personal and career planning, and it helps people create more fulfilling and meaningful lives using principles such as brainstorming, prototyping, and continual iteration. As a proud Certified Workshop Provider of the Designing Your Life curriculum, 1440 offers this full-day immersive learning experience instructed by faculty member and Designing Your Life facilitator Katie Denbo, guiding participants to explore design thinking and gain practical tools and resources to create greater balance, purpose, and meaning in their lives.
Complemented by a nourishing lunch at Kitchen Table that reflects the 1440 Food as Medicine philosophy, along with a nature-based mindfulness class to cultivate curiosity and wonder, this thoughtfully curated workshop invites you to consider who you want to become and begin taking steps toward that future today.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Through facilitated discussion, individual reflection, group collaboration, and a nurturing setting among the redwoods, like-hearted attendees will learn about:
- The Life Design Framework: What design thinking is and how it creates a foundation for meaning-making.
- Workview, Lifeview & Coherence: How our narratives, beliefs, and experiences shape us, and why alignment across our lives matters.
- Balance and Energy: Identify where you are today, what you want more of, and how to create space for the people and experiences that bring you joy.
- Odyssey Planning: Expand your perspective on life’s possibilities and explore multiple paths toward a fulfilling future, while building confidence in your ability to navigate constraints and change.
- Prototyping & Action Planning: Develop a clear plan and practical next steps for creating a life of meaning and purpose.
No matter where you are on your growth journey – perhaps someone navigating a career transition, a college student considering what comes next, or the person who appears to have it all figured out yet still feels stuck – Designing Your Life is approachable, actionable, and insightfully fun.
