Creating Unforgettable Presentations, Communications, and Brands
July 2-7, 2017
Sunday-Friday, 5 nights
Plus 5 nights all-inclusive accommodations priced separately below.
Before dinner tonight, you will see hundreds of emails, ads, tweets, and posts. Yet by tomorrow, when you settle in for a cup of coffee, most of what you saw will be forgotten—except for the stories.
The ability to find, shape, and share your own most essential stories is one of your greatest assets as a leader. If you are shifting a paradigm, innovating as an entrepreneur, or guiding a team, you can benefit from a treasury of essential stories that you love to tell—and can adapt for different audiences and for different purposes. The key is to have a stash of core, retellable stories.
While we know a good story when we hear one, we don’t always know how to tell one. This week, with storyteller and story coach Jay Golden, you will learn:
You will leave with a universal framework to find and shape any story and the means to create your own treasured collection of stories to use in your business, including origin stories (where you come from), impact stories (what you do), and vision stories (where you are going).
Jay Golden is an author, entrepreneur, and storytelling coach. Since founding Wakingstar in 2009, Jay has crafted stories, led trainings, and coached leaders for clients such as Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, the Rainforest Action Network, and Esalen Institute.
Jay sold his first business just out of college and set out to see the world, embarking on what would become a three-year journey. Finally tired of the road, he landed in Sausalito where he helped found Learn2.com—which Yahoo! called “The Most Useful Site on the Internet.”
For the next 12 years, Jay explored the edges of emerging Internet media, fascinated by its ability to transform audiences, and he began to see that little attention was going to the center of it all: the stories that inform leadership, connect every organization, and translate the most critical insights and experiences into relatable, insightful, retellable stories to guide audiences, one-to-one and one-to-many.
Draw from what you’ve learned, experienced, and believe in to find your core stories and/or those of your clients or company.
Develop the skills to effectively shape a collection of your own stories that leave a lasting impression and advance your objectives.
Identify your goals and audiences and learn how to communicate your visions and best ideas in ways that resonate, move, and inspire people.
