Larry Payne, PhD, C-IAYT Teacher, author, and founder of Prime of Life Yoga®

Larry Payne is an internationally respected yoga teacher, author, and founder of yoga therapy in the United States.

Larry cofounded the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and developed the yoga curriculum at the UCLA School of Medicine. He is also the founder of the Yoga Therapy Rx and Prime of Life Yoga programs at Loyola Marymount University and the Corporate Yoga Program at the J. Paul Getty Museum and Getty Trust.

He founded Samata International Yoga and Health Center in Los Angeles in 1980, where he continues to teach groups and individuals.

He is coauthor of five books, including Yoga Rx, Yoga Therapy & Integrative Medicine, the international best seller Yoga for Dummies, and most recently Yoga After 50 for Dummies. He is featured in the DVD series Prime of Life Yoga and Yoga Therapy Rx.

In 2000, Larry was the first yoga teacher to be invited to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and in 1996 he performed the first documented headstand at the North Pole.
