While 1440 does prohibit outside food or beverage, if you must consume specialty items for medical purposes, you must consume them only in the comfort of your guest room - due to health and safety mandates established by the California Department of Public Health, you may not bring outside food or beverages into public areas, nor may any such items be stored in our kitchens 

The forest is also very active with insects which are sensitive to outside are often attracted to food and/or beverages you keep in your guest room or luggage.
