Is there a free-standing restaurant on the campus for a la carte dining?

No. 1440 is an all-inclusive campus which means all meals are included and served at Kitchen Table - the communal dining room and culinary heart of our campus. There is not a free-standing a la carte dining option on campus, so please be mindful that we serve fresh organic plant-forward food geared towards a healthy integrated lifestyle with a "food as medicine" approach to nutrition. You will find food here to be a mainly vegetable-based diet with limited meat and fish protein accoutrements. All guests enjoy the same menu for each meal period and while you can elect to omit the meat or fish from your entrée in lieu of a vegetable protein, there are no other menu substitutions.

Common Grounds, the campus café and break area, offers limited grab-and-go snacks and specialty beverages throughout the day, but is not a full-service restaurant. All items in the cafe must be purchased separately - including beer and wine which must be purchased from and served by 1440 staff regardless of where it is offered on campus.

In compliance with the California Department of Public Health guidelines, 1440 does not permit guests to bring or consume outside food or beverage in any public locations on campus.

1440 is a heavily wooded location and strongly advises against bringing any food into your guest room to avoid insects or animals that it might attract.
