What is the process of booking a Wellness Wedding at 1440 Multiversity?
Once you and 1440 Multiversity mutually agree upon a date for your Wellness Wedding, a contract will be issued that must be signed and returned with the required non-refundable and non-transferrable deposit of $5,000.00 or 50 percent of the value of your contracted revenue amount - whichever is greater. We are generally blessed with beautiful weather most of the year; however, in the event of inclement weather an alternate indoor venue will be provided for your event. Event relocations must be requested the day prior to your event. Relocations are done as a courtesy and no refunds or reimbursements will apply - indoor back-up spaces are comprised of classrooms which are minimalistic and lack aesthetics.Does 1440 Multiversity provide a back-up venue in case of inclement weather?
1440 Multiversity supplies all of its own audio-visual and décor; however, we do not refer outside vendors. If you plan to use a photographer or florist, there may be additional fees and deposits required in addition to compliance with confidentiality and maintenance agreements. It is important to inform your vendors and guests that 1440 Multiversity is not a hotel, resort or traditional wedding venue. It is a private learning destination and, as such, you will only have access to, and use of, the areas of campus specifically outlined in your contract.Am I required to use 1440 Multiversity preferred vendors for flowers, photography and décor?
Yes, your guests are welcome to book an individual Rest & Renewal stay package based on availability in advance of the wedding day - no contract is necessary. We do not accept reservations on the day of the event and only pre-registered guests can stay on our campus. If you feel you will have many out-of-town guests, we encourage you to determine room availability at 1440 prior to securing your event date. You will be required to sign a separate contract if you wish to pre-pay and guarantee a block of rooms for your guests.Can my guests stay at 1440 Multiversity?
There are other accommodation alternatives in Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz. 1440 does not provide any form of off-campus shuttle service. 1440 Multiversity does not accept same-day reservations.What options do my guests have if they choose not to stay at 1440 Multiversity?
Unfortunately not. Your guests and wedding party only have access to 1440 Multiversity during the dates and times contracted. Since 1440 is a private campus that only provides services to registered guests, the campus is not accessible or open to any non-registered guests at any time. 1440 strictly abides by this policy for the safety of all guests and out of respect and privacy for those who are immersed in learning sessions. 1440 requires all eligible guests to register at the Lodge upon arrival and only such guests are allowed on campus. 1440 strictly abides by and enforces criminal trespass laws as outlined in California Penal Code 602 PC which can lead to penalties of up to six (6) months in county jail and/or a fine up to $1,000.00 if you are caught trespassing. If you wish to meet someone who is not registered, you must do so off-campus. Failure to comply with this policy may result in the forfeiture of your deposits and the cancellation of your event.Can my friends and relatives come to the campus to visit us before or after the wedding?
1440 Multiversity does have facilities with these capabilities on campus; however, the major of outdoor spaces and meal venues will require additional fees to arrange starting from $3,500.00. 1440 cannot guarantee the bandwidth or signal strength of streaming services in certain locations around campus - especially those outdoors. Any form of transmission that includes the images of guests attending the event will require a Recording Release form in advance.Can we live-stream the wedding ceremony and reception?
Yes. You are required to supply a list of names for all guests who will attend your wellness event five (5) business days prior to your event so that we may register everyone. Since 1440 is a private campus with nonprofit rules we must follow, only pre-registered guests are allowed on campus the day of your event. For identification purposes, all guests will be issued 1440 identification upon arrival that they must display.Are our guests required to register upon arrival to 1440 Multiversity if they are not staying overnight?
There are packages that include spaces for the wedding couple, bridal party, and/or vendors to utilize in preparation for your celebration. All such arrangements must be booked in advance based on availability.Where will I get ready for my wedding?
You will have one hour for photos before or after the wedding (you can elect 30 minutes before and after) to take photos at your chosen wedding venue location or at other select locations pre-arranged in advance so long as you are accompanied by a 1440 staff member. You will not have rights to take photos randomly or at your discretion at locations around campus that have not been pre-determined so please be sure to coordinate times and locations during the pre-planning process.Is there a designated area(s) for couple photos?
May we have a wedding rehearsal and is there a fee?
No open flames or foreign materials are allowed on campus. Wedding couples are responsible for maintaining the venue area cleanliness and aesthetics. Deposit monies may be forfeited in cases where these areas are not maintained.Can we use sparklers or confetti for during our event?
Due to health department regulations, outside food and beverages not prepared by 1440 may not be served on campus. Custom cupcakes are included with the package and a personalized wedding cake for cutting can be arranged through our culinary team.Can we provide our own wedding cake?
No. Since 1440 Multiversity is not open to non-registered guests, any menu tasting must be arranged as a private event during non-operating campus mealtimes and charged separately. All costs associated with labor and menu items will vary based on selections you wish to taste.Does my Wellness Wedding package include a menu or cake tasting?
